Facelift

The most commonly used term for "total makeover" on the planet is facelift. And there's a reason for that! The facelift (or face lift) procedure--technically known as a rhytidectomy--is the single most effective procedure to reduce the signs of aging!

Rhytidectomy literally means "surgical removal of wrinkles." A facelift is a relatively complex procedure, lasting anywhere from three to five hours, depending on each patients' particular needs. There are a few types of facelift procedures, including a mid-facelift (also known as a mini-facelift) and other "custom" facelift surgeries. Different techniques for each type of facelift are available to treat each unique face, as well as different methods for the specific needs of men or women.

Over time, gravity takes a toll on the muscles and underlying tissues of our face. As our skin becomes loose and lax, it creates wrinkles and folds on our face. The facelift repositions the structure of our face so that these wrinkles are tightened and stretched out. At Pasadena Surgical Arts, Dr. Michael Schwartz pays particularly close attention to detail when doing a facelift surgery. He makes sure to restore a face's youthful appearance without the telltale signs of having had a facelift.

Michael S. Schwartz, MD has been performing facial plastic and reconstructive surgery since 1990, and has an extremely deep and thorough understanding about the structure, contour, and anatomy of the face. We'd love for you to come visit our office in Pasadena, California to personally meet Dr. Schwartz, and to hear his recommendations and opinions regarding your concerns.
