Breast Implants

“My experience includes placing breast implants through all possible approaches. We use the transaxillary, or armpit incision, the periareolar incision at the border of the areola, the inframammary incision in the fold underneath the breast, and the transumbilical incision which can only be used for saline implants at this time. When closed meticulously the scars in all these approaches will hopefully disappear or at most be minimally noticeable. The axillary approach keeps the scar off the breast, but does create a line in the axilla. The umbilical approach puts the scar inside the belly button and leaves no scar on the breast or in the axilla.

“We offer saline and the newest silicone gel implants, and can place them under the muscle, over the muscle, or between the muscle and its lining, the so-called subfascial approach. I am always happy to discuss all the options with each patient and arrive at the best decisions for each individual.”
